2020 was heavily defined by Covid -19, which lead to global economic and social disruptions, worldwide lockdown, mass cancellation of events, and the most prominent economic rescission. Among one of the affected industries was the entertainment industry across the globe. Many film releases got canceled, and shoots got halted. Dolittle – This is an American fantasy adventure film. Stephen Gaghan directs the film and the screenplay Doug Mand, Dan Gregor, Gaghan and based on a story by Thomas Shepherd. the film is the remake of Doctor Dolittle, the original 20th Century Fox series 1967. It is based on the title character created by Hugh Lofting. The film was released on January 17, 2020 (United States). The film grossed $77,047,065 (Domestic).

Sonic the Hedgehog – This is an action-adventure comedy film based on the video game franchise of the same name published by Sega. The film is directed by Jeff Fowler and written by Josh Miller and Patrick Casey. In a planned Sonic the Hedgehog film series, it is the 1st installment. The story follows Sonic the Hedge Hedgehog, who runs supersonic speeds, takes help from local town sheriff Tom Wachowski to find his lost rings, and escapes the mad scientist, Dr. Robotnik. Birds of Prey – This is an American superhero film based on the D.C. Comics team, the Birds of Prey. Warner Bros distribute the film, and in the D.C. Extended Universe, it is the eighth installment and a spin-off/sequel to Suicide Squad (216). It was directed by Cathy Yan and written by Christina Hodson. The story follows Harley Quinn, who, after breaking up with the Joker, is threatened by Gotham City crime lord and joins forces to save Cassandra Cain. The film was released on February 7, 2020 (United States). The film grossed $84,158,461 (Domestic).
