Spider-Man: Far From Home is an American superhero film based on Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. The film is co-produced by Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures and distributed by Sony Picture Releasing. It is a sequel to Spider-Man Home Coming of 2017. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is the 23rd film. Jon Watts directed the film, and Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers wrote the film. The film stars Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, J.B.Smoove, Martin Starr, Jake Gyllenhaal, Tom Holland, Zendaya,Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei.

Peter Parker is seen relaxing on a European vacation, but it takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury comes to his hotel and hires him for a mission. The world is in danger as four massive elemental creatures, each representing fire, air, water, and earth, emerge from a hole torn in the universe. To stop the evil entities from wreaking havoc across the continent, Peter becomes Spider-Man.

By October 2016, discussion began for the film, and the project was confirmed later that year. Watts, Holland, and the writers were all set to return by the end of 2017. In 2018, Gyllenhaal and Jackson joined the cast. Ahead of filming, Holland revealed the title of the film. The filming took place in the Czech Republic, Italy, the New York metropolitan area, England. In October 2018, production raped. Sony Classical released the soundtrack album on June 28, 2019.

The film premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre on June 26, 2019, and was theatrically released in the US on July 2 as the last film in the Phase Three of MCU. The film received praise for its visual effects and humor. It grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide. It is the 1st film in the Spider-Man series to pass the billion-dollar mark and the 4th highest-grossing film of 2019. The film is also Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing film ever. A sequel Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled for release on December 17, 2021.
